Financial planning: a framework for better decisions
Bring cashflow, pensions, investments, tax and protection into a plan organised around the life you want to lead.
A useful plan begins with questions rather than products.
We map what you own, owe, earn and spend, then connect those facts to the outcomes that matter to you. Cashflow modelling can illustrate trade-offs - such as retiring earlier, helping family or changing work - without pretending the future is certain.
Recommendations are prioritised, explained in plain English and revisited as circumstances change. Pensions, investments, protection and tax are considered together, so an improvement in one area does not create an unintended problem elsewhere.

Our process
How we work with you
The process moves from understanding your circumstances to analysing options and agreeing practical actions. Implementation and ongoing reviews are separate decisions, not automatic commitments.
Initial Discovery
Understanding your situation
This meeting is at our cost. We take time to get to know you, understand your goals, and determine whether we can add genuine value to your financial life.
Recommendation
Your financial roadmap
We prepare a comprehensive report detailing our research and recommendations. This includes a full analysis of your situation and a clear action plan.
Implementation
Making it happen
We handle all the paperwork and liaison with providers - setting up agreed accounts, arranging contributions, and putting your plan into action.
Ongoing Service
Your financial partner
Ongoing advice is optional and agreed separately. Reviews check whether the plan still reflects your circumstances, priorities and relevant changes in tax rules.
For those with smaller portfolios, percentage fees can work out cheaper. If that applies in your case, you will have that option.
Putting a financial plan into practice with rockwealth
A plan should explain why an action matters, what it depends on and what could change the decision. That makes it easier to weigh competing priorities, such as reducing borrowing, saving for retirement or helping family.
Cashflow modelling is one tool in that process. Its results depend on assumptions about inflation, returns, spending and tax. Testing alternatives can reveal pressure points, but cannot guarantee an outcome or remove investment risk.
Frequently asked questions
How does financial planning differ from investment advice?
Financial planning starts with goals and considers how income, spending, borrowing, protection, pensions and tax fit together. Investment advice addresses how a portfolio should support those goals, taking account of risk and timeframes. A plan can identify useful actions even when choosing investments is not the immediate priority.
How do you charge for financial planning?
Our Financial MasterPlan starts from £2,000, with the scope and fee agreed before work begins. Implementation and ongoing advice are separate services, and platform and underlying fund charges are additional. Advice fees are normally fixed; where a percentage charge would be cheaper for a smaller portfolio, we explain that option.
Can you help with property-related financial planning?
A plan can consider property alongside savings, pensions and other assets. It can explore the effect of mortgage commitments, a future sale or downsizing on spending and available cash, as well as potential tax implications. Property values and sale dates are assumptions, not certain sources of future income.
Do you work with other professional advisers?
Yes, we regularly coordinate with solicitors, accountants, and tax specialists. Good financial planning often requires a team approach for coherent, joined-up advice.

Putting the subject in context
How this service fits your wider plan
A financial plan is a decision-making framework, not a collection of products. It starts with what you want life to look like, then tests whether your income, assets and commitments can support it.

Start with the question that is on your mind
You do not need to arrive with everything organised. Tell us what has changed, what feels uncertain or what you want life to look like next. We will explain whether our Lake District team can help and what the next step would involve.
